About me
Writing is wonderful, and writing is hard. And lonely. And frustrating. And sometimes terrifying. My goal is to make the process more manageable at every stage. Whether you're looking for help executing your vision for a novel, structuring your academic monograph, or polishing your memoir, I can provide guidance. I have five years of editorial experience at the Virginia Quarterly Review and have since worked as a freelance editor for both creative and academic projects. I received my PhD in English from the University of Virginia in 2022, my MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Sewanee in 2017, and my BA in Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2013. I'm the author of All Y'all: Queering Southernness in US Fiction, 1980-2020 (UNC Press, 2024). I'm happily rooted in Tennessee with my partner and family, including two ornery dogs.
