In my capacity as assistant editor at the Virginia Quarterly Review, I have worked primarily on short fiction and essays, helping writers sharpen ideas, refine pacing, and finesse characterization. My experience evaluating and editing work for a literary quarterly has given me an understanding of writers’ paths of growth, especially at the beginning of a career.
